Tournament Rules

  1. Must be Trans or Non-Binary and 18+ to play in this tournament.
  2. NO CHECKING. Hockey is a contact sport however, expect some contact in the context of making legal plays on the puck. Please keep your play safe and friendly.
  3. Slapshots ARE ALLOWED, but play safe! Don’t take a hard shot with vulnerable players between you and the net.
  4. Helmets are required. Full face masks are encouraged, but not required.
  5. Any goals that are scored with more than a 5-goal differential will not show on the board but will be recorded on the game sheet. Teams should not run up scores – this isn’t fun for any team that is down, and will not help your team move on.
  6. We may put a cap on players who score more than 5 goals a game. So please don’t run up the board as we don’t want to do this.
  7. Captains: If a spare is required please reach out to teamtranstc@gmail.com or find Annie. A spare will be appointed for you. Spares will only be appointed if; a team falls under 10 skaters or special circumstances (example: Injury) Depending on the player you will get an equivalent or close.
  8. Zero tolerance on any unsportsmanlike conduct towards officials/other players/fans/etc. may result in suspension or removal from the tournament.

 

Round Robin Format

Schedule and Games:

You will be provided schedule for game timings and opponents.

Team needs to be ready to play at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Games will consist of:

  • 5 minute warmup.
  • 17 minute run time periods.
  • 1 minute breaks between periods. 

Each team will have 4 total games.

  • A win will earn your team 3 points.
  • A tie will earn your team 1 point.
  • No points are awarded for a loss.

Scoring and Points:

There will be a score and time keeper each game logging on the game sheets.

Tie-Breaking Rules:

In case teams are tied on points after all games:

  • Head-to-Head
    • Team A and Team B both have 6 points at the end of all matches.
    • Team A defeated Team B in their head-to-head match.
    • Therefore, Team A would be ranked higher than Team B in the standings due to their superior head-to-head result.
